Bridal Trends - January was a month filled with bridal shows. It seems like every event space, every hotel and every convention center hosted a show of their own. It was hard to make time to visit each and everyone. I can only imagine how overwhelmed the brides must feel. Thank goodness there were ample cake samples to keep me on a sugar high throughout each visit. Now that February has arrived, I'm signing off on the bridal show visits...unless, of course, there is "just one more" that calls out my name.
It was grand fun to see so many Floral Design Institute alumni showcasing their designs and services. If the crowds at each are any indication, I'm sure this is going to be a crazy busy wedding season. Chatting with graduates as slipped in between brides, everyone seemed quite excited on the momentum of wedding bookings. A few prime summer wedding days are already booked full. Love it!
Trends on display were spot-on with predictions. Eco chic, Earth Conscious, Glamour, Bling, Feathers, Sky & Sea colors, Detailing.....Check! It was all here. One trend I fell in love with was the belts on bridal gowns. Colorful, neutral, feathered, beaded or flowered - so many different belt options. Brides now choose the dress then, choose the belt. I'm thinking this provides a whole new way to wear flowers on your wedding day. Love the idea of adding fresh flowers at the waistline. I may just have to play around with this a bit. What works best - magnets, pins, u-glu....maybe even a clip. Chances are you'll see me running around town with flowers on my waist as I test out the design options.
