Description: A daisy like flower with a very prominant cone-shaped center.
Colors: Red, gold and orange
Botanical Facts: This member of the sunflower family is a popular and widely used herbal cold remedy.  Extract of the Echinacea root has been found to boost the human immune system.
Design Notes: Cone flower centers add an interesting and exotic texture to arrangements.
Purchasing Hints:  Use as whole flowers if the flowers are fresh and the petals in good condition.  When the flower ages, remove the petals and use the flower center.
Conditioning:  Remove all foliage that will be below the water line. Cut under water with a sharp knife.  Hydrate in a solution of warm water and commercial floral preservative / floral food for two hours before storage or usage.
Additional Notes:  Cone flower heads dry easily and can be used in perminant arrangements.
