The floral design event of the summer will be the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) 2005 National Symposium, “Balance”.  The Symposium will take place July 2nd through 6th in downtown Seattle at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers and Washington State Convention and Trade Center.

The symposium program has been published, and I must say, “Balance” is one of the finest symposium programs that I have ever seen.

Programs range from “2006 American Floral Trends” to “Unbalanced Body Couture” to “Balance the Art of Science and Style”, to “Timeless to Trendy Weddings in Perfect Balance”, to “On Search for Inspiration”.  Over twenty wonderful programs in all.  AIFD presenters include John Haines, Hitomi Gilliam, Els Hazenberg, Gregor Lersch, and Phil Rulloda.   The presenters are a veritable “who’s who” of the floral design world.  This is an event that I would encourage everyone to attend.  Even if you can only get away for a single day of programs, it will be well worth the time and money spent.

For additional information check out the AIFD website, www.AIFD.org

If you have ever had the desire to see what it’s like to assist “behind-the-scenes” at a major floral design show, then this is your chance.   David Kesler AIFD is organizing volunteers to assist with the staging of the AIFD National Symposium this summer.  This is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the finest floral design show in America and mingle with some of the most creative floral designers in the world.  A listing of volunteers has already begun; contact David today if you are interested, 800-819-8089, David@FloralDesignInstitute.com.
