Must Do

If you have ever wanted to learn floral design, then Basics of American Floral Design on May 8 is a perfect “first ever" class.   All floral design styles stem from three basic origins: American, Asian and European.  In Basics of American Floral Design, you will learn the methods and techniques used to create designs in floral foam as you create your own beautiful traditional American styled arrangement of early summer cymbidium orchids and roses.

In Season

Boronia originally from Australia is one of the most fabulous, fragrant spring flowers. Only the heavily-scented paper white narcissus comes close to the intensity of fragrance. And, an added bonus, its vibrant, hot pink color is just the thing to chase away the rainy day blues.

Looking Ahead

Introduction to Corsages
is scheduled for May 14. This is your chance to learn the art of corsage design. Corsages are enjoying a resurgence in popularity. But, today’s popular corsages are not the ones worn by our grandmothers. In this class you will learn the mechanics of wiring and taping flowers and the techniques of making the popular “garden look” corsage.

Events

As you make you summer plans don’t forget the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) National Symposium, "The Edge of Paradise".  The Symposium will take place July 7 through 11 in Palm Desert, California.   This will be the floral design event of the summer.
