Do something wonderful this summer: begin an exciting new career.  Basic Floral Design begins on July 9 and we do have a few seats available in our Seattle classroom, unfortunately our Portland class is now sold out.  On September 8 we have Basic Floral Design night classes beginning and our next day classes begin on September 10.  Yes, these classes are already filling.   Call up if you have questions, 1-800-819-8089.

In Season

Big balls of sunshine – That’s the best way to describe a Centaurea bloom. These bright yellow balls just explode with the essence of summer sunshine.

A member of the herbaceous thistle family, they are related to our common cornflower or bachelor button. They often make me think of the vivid yellow dandelions I gathered as a child. These are even better – they are bigger, brighter and last much longer.

Looking Ahead

If you love roses, this is a wonderful time to be alive. There are literally hundreds of rose varieties, colors, shapes and sizes available throughout the year. But, a summer rose from the garden still seems the most beautiful. Join us for Arranging Summer Roses on July 10.  You will learn updated care and handling methods, novel design styles and new techniques as you create your own beautiful summer rose arrangement.

Events

You may have noticed that our schedule of classes is very light right now.  Yes, we at Floral Design Institute love the Fourth of July, fireworks and picnics as much as you do.  Then, on July 7 the AIFD National Symposium begins and we will be studying with some of the greatest floral designers in the world.  But, on July 9 you will find us back in the classroom.  Join us, we can't wait to share our new designs and techniques.
