Must Do

Next Week at Floral Design Institute is going to be an exciting week.  We have three grand classes that are being offered as both an afternoon and an evening class.   Make this week an event; call a friend and sign up for all three classes.

The week begins with Summer Flower Topiary on August 21.  There are few floral designs more elegant or more practical than a simple topiary filled with colorful summer flowers from the garden. In this class we will demonstrate simple design techniques that make creating floral topiaries easy and fun.  As you learn, you will create your own lovely fresh summer flower topiary.

On August 22 we are offering Designing with Hydrangeas.  If you love Hydrangeas, but have been baffled when it comes to the design and care of these tricky, bold blossoms, then this is the class for you.  Join us and learn the latest tricks and tips for growing, harvesting, designing, and drying this beautiful, fresh summer flower.

The week isn't over yet!   On August 23 Glorious Summer Flowers is on the schedule.  If you are impulsively drawn to color - the brighter the better - you will love this class.  Hot, vivid, exciting and dramatic. Join us and create your own arrangement of  glorious summer flowers.

In Season

Who says floral design requires flowers? Not me!

Yes, you can believe your eyes. Our “In Season” flower is a berry. This thorn-less Blackberry is grand for use in floral design. Tuck it into a bouquet, enhance a centerpiece or enjoy it all alone in a vase. It is quite the long lasting “floral” and is such fun to work with. I especially love the “thorn-less” feature.

Looking AheadI

Have you ever thought of floral design as a part-time career?  Yes, floral design is a career that easily allows you to work a few hours each week. Many FDI graduates work part time as floral designers while continuing a college education, holding a regular job or working as a stay-at-home parent.  Working part-time is a great way to "Do Something You Love".

Our next night class for Basic Floral Design begins on September 8.  You can receive your training "part-time" and be ready for part-time employment as a floral designer during the holiday season.   Don't delay, Enroll Today.  Feel free to call us if you have questions; 800-819-8089.

Have a Great Week and Do Something You Love!

                                                           See you soon,
