In Season

Cattails   are out and abundant!  They remind me of my childhood.  I remember weaving placemats with their foliage – over, under, over, under… Oh, they were so beautiful!  I know my mom loved them. Close to my home was a swampy area filled with beautiful cattails.  Every fall you could find me there harvesting my cattails.  Today, I must gather the cattails at the flower market.  My little swamp is now a surburban neighborhood with lush lawns instead of cattails.

Looking Ahead

Advanced Contemporary Design is scheduled for November 10 & 11 in both Portland and Seattle.   This is an intensive 14-hour program covering the European and Asian influences in arrangement styles, with special emphasis on design mechanics, elements, principles and innovative color harmonies.
