The count down begins! There are just nine more days to the Thanksgiving holiday. Are you ready? I’m almost there. Thank goodness I was out gathering all my Autumn Treasures before the rains began. Today as I type, the winter weather is with us in full force. We have rain, wind, cold…all the usual Pacific Northwest fun.

Today, I’ll share with you the component florals I am using to decorate my house. I love to create lots of individual coordinating designs that I sprinkle throughout to create a festive spirit in every room. Nothing too contrived, just simple elements of the season combined to create a harvest-inspired ambiance.

Once these are in place, it is the usual last minute “fluff” to make sure the place looks good. I don’t get too concerned about the cleaning – just enough to look loved yet lived in. A little secret I use most every day of the holiday season is bread in the toaster. Yes, to get that “baking all day” fragrance, toast a piece of cinnamon bread. Just pop a piece of bread in and your whole house will smell like fresh baked bread.
