Pinecones come in a multitude of varieties. Ok, maybe not “pine” cones but cones can be big, small, long, round, pointy or soft. There are so many different kinds to hunt and gather. What fun! My favorites are the white pine, ponderosa pine and spruce.

The tiniest that I love are the little birch cones – they are perfect miniatures at a little less than an inch in length.
