Commonly called "wet foam", floral foam is the primary material for making modern floral designs. Floral foam is designed to absorb and hold water in it's capillary structure.  Flower stems properly inserted into floral foam will be held in place and can draw water up into the flower stem from the floral foam.  Before designing an arrangement, floral foam should be allowed to soak in a solution of water and floral preservative / food. Each brick is 9"x4"x3".

A tip for working with hot glue: keep a bowl of ice water near your work area when working with the glue gun. Then, whenever you burn yourself, immediately plunge the burn into the ice water and keep it there for a few minutes.  This will lessen the hurt, stop the burning, reduce the damage to the skin, and promote more rapid healing.
