For several years now we have occasionally featured a style of design which we call "nests of flowers". Actually, while I say "we" it is really David who is our nest builder. He absolutely loves creating and has become quite good at building nests. I sometimes think that the boy must be part bird.

Recently, some nest designs were featured in a national magazine which has prompted several emails to me asking "how do you make these designs?". So I decided to turn this how-to demonstration over to David. Be careful, his enthusiasm for nest design is infectious. A few years ago David was in a workshop taught by designer Damien Koh of Singapore. There was an over-abundance of material after the formal workshop was over, so David decided to create a nest design. Damien was fascinated and quickly involved. An hour or so later there was a dramatic flower–filled, eight-foot diameter nest in the design room. For this demonstration David has created a similar but much smaller, (thank goodness)
"Spring Nest Centerpiece".  Enjoy!

See you next week…
