The Bounty of the Garden - The Autumnal equinox is just around the corner. The term equinox comes from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night). This is the point where the hours of night and day are the closest to equal time. As the days shorten, the saying “there is just not enough time in the day” comes true! You will find me outside every spare moment. In the garden, in the park…anywhere but in the house! The drive to squeeze each bit of sunlight out of the day before the winter darkness descends can’t be ignored. I’m out gathering the last of the fresh vegetables, preparing the garden to go to sleep for the season and collecting pinecones for the winter décor. September 23rd marks the end of summer.
