Welcome to the Flower School.com video library. I'm Leanne Kessler, Director of the Floral Design Institute, and yes, you're looking at a pumpkin arrangement that you've already seen; but today, I want to show you how to turn it to Halloween for frightful fun.
If you missed it, you'll find the full video for creating this design at the Flower School.com website. Now for this, it was perfect for autumn all through Halloween to Thanksgiving; but for today, we want to look just at Halloween. First off, get rid of the bow. Too sweet. Now, we can make it frightful.
For fun, I'll start with this spider. It's just a standard one purchased at a craft store. It will set right on the pumpkin. Now, to secure it, a bit of Oasis Floral Adhesive. Just right on the belly. Let it begin to dry. Then place it right onto the pumpkin.
Now comes the best part, to create spiderwebs. To do this use a standard hot-melt glue gun, standard glue sticks, no surprises. Then a bit of styrofoam. Squirt it directly onto the styrofoam. Then with a second piece put it together. When you pull it apart, you've got ghostly spiderwebs to drip across your design.
The beauty of this simple technique is you can take any arrangement at all, add a spider and webbing, and have it holiday specific. Then once the party is over, you can remove the webs and the spiders and have a beautiful autumn arrangement again.
