Hydrangea Wrist Corsage

The question I hear oh, so often is, "Can I use a hydrangea in a corsage?" And the answer is yes. Let me show you how it's done.
The materials: hydrangea, of course. Garden hydrangeas, older hydrangeas hold better. So that's your first clue. The base, I'm going to use Teacher Michelle's classic cuff. You've seen this before, watched her step on it to make it perfect. OASIS Floral Adhesive. And to finish it off, I'll definitely be using Crowning Glory.
To begin, clipping down the hydrangea florets, you want just small clusters. You don't want a big stem. So you want to just clip it apart so you can break it, get it down to manageable bits, then using some ruscus leaves, clipping them off. Then using your OASIS Floral Adhesive, just a bit of glue on the back of the leaf. Then I take and put a little bit of glue on a Post-it note or a piece of plastic so you can have a dollop of glue, which makes it easier so that when you're working, you can take your leaves, place them on the back side of the cuff, then coming back with the hydrangea florets and actually dipping them into that little dollop of glue. Let it begin to dry, and then it will stick to the leaf, which also has glue on it. So you have glue to glue, feeding it right through that wire frame and tucking it down low, adding a little bit of pressure to hold it in place, and repeat that until you are happy with the hydrangea coverage and placement.
By placing the hydrangea at the base, as it does begin to fade, it will just shrink into itself and still look fabulous. By putting the leaves underneath, all your mechanics are concealed. So once you have that whole base set, you can go back and add. If you want to go to classic with white roses and just tuck them in, be very elegant. If you want to be a little more dramatic, pick up the coppery gold from the cuff, bring it in with Hypericum. You got so many choices. Just give it a cut. And then maybe even a little bit of vibrant blue delphinium. Yes, you can do that too on a corsage. I know, it kind of blows your mind sometimes when you think of the things. The key is knowing how to use it, tucking it low so that it will look beautiful, and then placing over the top to get the coloration that you want and a little more excitement. And then repeating that with the delphinium, dipping it in the glue, tucking it down in, and repeat that across until you have it just the way you want it.
When it's finished, let it dry just a little bit so that the glue is set. Then fully saturate it with Crowning Glory. Spray it down. And again, let it sit at room temperature until fully dry. Then place it in a hydration chamber and it will be beautiful for days. Take it back out when it's time to wear, and you'll still have a full day of wearing it. Even with the fragile blossoms, you'll be amazed how long they'll last.
The recipe is really just bits. Part of a Hydrangea, part of a Delphinium, and one stem of Hypericum, then just two leaves from the Ruscus.
