Weddings 2024. Embracing the Pantone Color of the Year 2024. How many peach fuzz weddings will you be doing? Let's talk about the flowers that are perfect for this.
The mechanics? A closely tied hand tie. The flowers? From Garden Roses Direct. The number of different roses we worked with. David Austin Garden Roses, two of my favorites, Juliet and Charity. When you buy them, you know it's a David Austin Rose because they are labeled as such, so you know you're getting the best roses available. Then two spray roses, Tanya and Peaches N' Dream. The four together are just stunning.
The Pantone Color of the Year for 2024, peach fuzz, is the evolution. It takes from champagne that was so popular for weddings for years and years, and still is, and then moved forward into the millennial pink, or Barbie pink. And now the peach buzz embraces a little bit of color, but backs up slightly to more of that neutral, and it works so well with so many different hues. It's certainly going to be a favorite of wedding couples this year.
The recipe? Everything from gardenrosesdirect.com. One Juliet rose, two of the Charity garden roses, then one stem of the Tanya spray rose, two stems of the Peaches N' Dream spray rose. Then filling in with a bit of Grevillea, three Stock, three lisianthus, a tiny bit of seeded eucalyptus, and just a bit of Israeli Ruscus.
Today's focus was on color. You would like to see how to create a hand tied bouquet? Go to the website, flowerschool.com, and just search in the library for hand ties. You'll see so many to choose from. But for now, focus on peach fuzz. Find your favorite flowers, create a palette that you adore, then design. Take a picture of it, post it on social media and #FloralDesignInstitute. That way we all can see what you do as you do something you love.
