Description: Large exotic looking unbels of trumpet shaped flowers adorned with wavy-edged petals and elegantly protruding stamens. The stems are long (18 to 22 inches), slender and foliage free.

Color: Pink, Red and White.

Botanical facts: Named after Nerine, a sea nymph and daughter of Nereus in Greek mythology. The name "Naked Lady" stems from the fact that the flower stems emerge from the bare ground long after the foliage has faded away.

Design notes: The long slender, straight stems of the Nerine make this blossom perfect for a parallel design or an addition to a hand-tied arrangement.

Purchasing hints: Look for turgid stems with flowers just beginning to open and some buds.

Conditioning: Cut two inches off of the stem ends with a sharp knife. Hydrate in a solution of water and commercial floral food for two hours before storage or usage.

Additional notes: Nerines are somewhat chill sensitive and should not be stored in the 30's Fahrenheit.
