Description: Small, waxy, highly fragrant, star-shaped flowers. The blossoms are cut from a vine and sold stemless in humid, air tight boxes or bags.

Botanical facts: The name is from the Greek words Stephanos (crown) and otos (ear), the Greek name for myrtle which was used to make crowns.

Design notes: These fragrant blossoms are used in wedding a corsage work.

Purchasing hints: Purchase open flowers with waxy appearance. Avoid bruised blossoms.

Conditioning: Open shipping carton and inspect flowers. Discard bruised and damaged blossoms. Float the blossoms in a 50/50 solution of Crowning Glory and water for 20 minutes. Drain and return to shipping carton, seal and refrigerate at 42 degrees Fahrenheit for up to one week.
