Carolyn Catron
FDI Instructor
Carolyn brings a wealth of real world floral design experience to Floral Design Institute. She is a proud graduate of Floral Design Institute, “I found my love and passion for floral design when I took my first class from Leanne Kesler in 1991.” Carolyn also has a degree in Graphic Design from Oregon State University. After graduating from FDI she worked in two high-end shops in Portland, Oregon and Orange County, California. “During this time I continued my education at FDI taking every possible class that was available to me.” Carolyn opened her own studio based design business focusing on weddings and special events in Southern California in 2009. In 2018 she made the decision to return to her hometown of Portland, Oregon. “I am so honored and humbled that my floral design career has brought me full circle. Retuning to FDI as an instructor where it all started.” In addition to teaching at FDI Carolyn works as a freelance designer with Jeri Barr at Bella Bloom Florals. When not teaching and designing she enjoys hiking, beach combing and hanging with my two children who although grown, still enjoy hanging out with their mom.
