Description: The leaves of Sprengeri fern are small, needle-like structures that form along thin, wiry stems. These stems grow in a cascading or trailing manner, creating a graceful and flowing effect.

Color: Bright, vibrant green color which resembles the rich hue of emeralds.

Botanical facts: Sprengeri fern is native to southern Africa

Design notes: Sprengeri fern's lush, feathery foliage makes it an excellent filler in floral arrangements. Its long, trailing stems can be used to add volume and texture to bouquets and centerpieces without overwhelming other flowers. The cascading growth habit of Sprengeri fern lends itself well to creating trailing accents in floral designs. Its stems can be allowed to drape gracefully over the edges of vases or containers, adding a touch of elegance and movement to arrangements.

Purchasing hints: Purchase stems which are turgid and flexible without kinks or damage. Avoid yellowing foliage with shedding needles.

Conditioning: Dip the entire fern in a solution of water and Pixie Sparkle ™. This will put a wax coating on the leaves and will help keep the moisture in and prevent browning. Cut two inches off of the stem ends with a sharp knife. Hydrate in water only for two hours before storage or usage. Store in water only.

Additional notes: Sprengeri fern (Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri') and asparagus fern (Asparagus setaceus) are often confused due to their similar appearance, but they are actually different species within the Asparagus genus.
